St.Patrick's Day

So St.Patrick's Day is coming up and I was wondering what it asctually was?? So i did some research and found out that it is the celebration of the Irish Saint, Saint Patrick, and March 17th (St.Patrick's Day) is the day he died in the 5th century! So that answered that question, but then I began to wonder why an Irish religious holiday was so widely celebrated in the U.S.?? So then I learned that in 1845, millions of irish fled to the United States during the Great Potato Famine, which they soon realized gave them a huge swing vote for politicians known as the "green party," thus beginning the tradition of wearing green. Soon, the Irish-Americans went from being made fun of and thought of as "crazy drunks running wild in the streets" to having their religious holiday being celebrated throughout the country. Attending St.Patrick's Day parades quickly became a must for all politicians hoping to be elected.

International Week

Internation week is by far my favorite part of the school year because of all the delicious food, but this yeak im kinda disapointed :( Last year there were lots of different foods that were actually INTERNATIONAL, but this year most clubs have chosen to sell more american foods such as chipotle, alertos, in-n-out, and other stuff like that. The whole point of International Week is not only to raise money for the clubs that are participating, but also to expose students to different delicious foods, so it just makes me sad, beacause last year, i had all this cool new food that ive never even heard of, and this year its mostly just the same stuff that i could buy at a fast food restaurant.

Teamwork:

My weight training coach at school was lecturing our team about how we really arent a team and how un motivated we seem, and it really got me thinking. Throughout the season, we have laid the blame on our coaches shoulders for our losses because he was a bad coach. However, we are good, just not good together. Nobody cheers for others when they do something good, and when they do something bad, they bring them down. In volleyball every point is critical and when someone gets down, thet drag everyone else with them, which causes us to lose, not having a crappy coach. Our boys team had the same coach and they made it to 2nd round of CIF and we lost every single game. Anyway, so today at club i just realized how we were playing like a team and we beat everyone going undefeated the whole day! you could be the best person on the court, but if your team isn't supporting you, you will never make a play. So for all of you who ditch practices with some lame excuse, next time you lose a game, you'll know exactly why..
